 Fellow racers,
Now is the time we pay tribute to the heroic figures that went forth and conquered the wilds of the Philippines. For like us, they too, were travelers... explorers even. It was written that a literally barefoot army of Katipuneros marched from Talisay, Batangas and blazed new trails through Montalban and Angat and on to their river gorge fortress forged by nature at Biak-na-Bato in Bulacan. Set on the historic province of Cavite, we dedicate this race in their honor and it will not just go without any challenge. When the knell for National Heroes' Day sounds on August 30, 2009; the hills and valleys of Cavite will again come alive as athletes from Manila and nearby provinces test their physical and mental skills against each other to determine who will emerge victorious in the 2nd MIT-MC Orienteering Competition. This exciting event focuses on orienteering and will challenge the participants’ navigational skills, decision making and strength to keep up not as an individual but as a team full of Filipino spirit. Furthermore, this will give you the opportunity to discover the varied natural attractions the province has to offer. The intermingling of history, adventure, sports and tourism will make this event an interesting and unique activity. This will be a National Heroes' day worth remembering. After all, we've got a heritage of wanderlust flowing in our veins! WHAT: 2nd MIT-MC Orienteering Competition WHEN: August 30, 2009 WHERE: Province of Cavite.
